Having french desserts while sailing on the Atlantic ocean is probably one of the best thing I did this summer.
I went cruising this summer with Norwegian for the first time and had this delicious dessert bfrom their speciality dining restaurant “Le Bistro”. These are PROFITEROLES.
Basically a nice fluffy soft choux pastry and in between was creamy vanilla ice cream. When served the waitress drizzled warm chocolate syrup on top.
At first I wasn’t sure how to eat it. Should I just shove it in my mouth like it’s an ice cream sandwich. As if I’m at a food festival in a parking lot instead of a fancy French restaurant wearing a semi formal romper. Or should I be elgant and use my knife and fork. I did both.
Ofc I did get quite messy with the first method but it was more delicious that way. It was like eating a cloud with ice cream in middle. The pastry wasn’t sweet, it was more like how eclairs tastes without the frosting in the middle. You get the sweetness from ice cream, powdered chocolate and chocolate syrup. The knife and fork method was much cleaner but not as fun. But if you don’t want to constantly lift up your napkin to wipe the chocolate off the corners of your mouth use the knife and fork.
